that's always a tough one for me.  But I say if it's blue, or silver, or heart shaped, then chances are that I will love it.  I have a hard time figuring out what would make me excited to receive.  Flowers? g/c for places I like to shop?

I make up a calendar and put everything that is happening on it, along with things that need to be done.  I also create a spreadsheet that helps me figure out what to buy those that I am buying gifts for.  I also keep in touch with some on computer.  I only wish that as many of my relatives had email, and checked it on a regular basis, as I do at work.

The holidays are right around the corner, which means gift-giving (and buying) season is upon us. When do you usually purchase your gifts? What are the benefits/disadvantages of buying when you do?

I make about half of the gifts that I give.  Those I make through out the year, I don't really plan on those yet, just what ever I have on hand.  The rest that I buy, usually about the beginning of Nov, that way I can spread out the costs over about 3 or 4 pay dates.  Makes it less cumbersome that buying it all out of one pay.  Making gifts is a nice thought I think, and making thoughout the year is good, that way you don't have to worry about it at the last minute.  One of these years the plans that I actually do make will come to fruition.

a scrap book item - it's a little paper cutter, ruler size the a top part you lift and put 5 sheets of paper in.  I bought it because I wanted something to cut the yahtzee score sheets.  LOL - yes I know, corny. :P.
