At work they are replacing a couple of heating/cooling units that are not working. One is outside my office. When it gets cold I freeze. Yesterday, we assume with the new unit, we roasted. It was 77f/25c in here. That's fairly warm from what we usually have it at 71f/22c. I had a hard time staying awake,
So today, I figure hey the new unit is in, it's going to stay warm in here, so I dress with a short sleeved blouse, that is summery (light material). And wouldn't you know it, it is back to 71 in here, plus the lock guy is here trying to get our new locks working. Which means he has the outside door wide open while fiddling with the lock. I am freezing.
There is no happy medium :(. Layers. I am glad I have blankets in me office, I put one over me lap when it gets this cold, as well I have a sweater on hand.
I swear, they make it sound like it was a chore. We took E&J to the airport last night. All the time we was with them, they kept saying thank you, thank you thank you. I dont' knwo how many times. But once was good enough.
Besides this would have been something that I would have done for anyone.
They arrived safe and sound.
We had a bit of a delima last night tho, I could not find any information on line as to whether or not their flight was on time or not. The computer didn't even list their flight number. When we got to the airport, the flight wasn't even listed on the arrival/departure board either.
They return on Jan 1 at 8am. Kim can just head to the airport after he gets home from work.
Now I has to remember to go to their place and empty their fridge of parishables, take their garbage and recycling out.
Kim and I may go their for a couple of nights next weekend. But we shall see.
now the hustle and bustle begin. We took the boys shopping this morning. Was somewhat hectic, but we managed. Tomorrow K & I have to take his parents to the airport, their flight leaves at 940pm. So we will have to be there by 830 at the latest. I figure we can go out for a late dinner, well late to them, then just drop them at the air port.
This means that I have to print their boarding pass tonight as they want the closest seats to the front of the plane. DOH. Now I feel pressured.
Wednesday is when everyone arrives. Will be nice to have everyone here. More people to keep the kids occupied. A large dinner to prepare, presents to open.
My last day of work is Wednesday, which we normally really dont' work much. We eat and party. I have to do up our final payroll on Monday, then stuff the envelopes on tuesday. Plus get get everything ready for t4 time. Reports to print, etc. No doubt it is very stressful on me.
was thinking I still have a lot to do, but nope. Got my gift from the draw already, got kim's family's done, have a couple of things for the kids, just want to get a couple more.
Then we need to figure out the food items we need to do. I do believe Ronnie brought up the turkey today. Mom is going to take us shopping next week, she says she wants to get all the veggies and other fixins for turkey dinner. I want to look into baked goods and snacks.
I do believe we is almost prepared. Just have to sort out where we are all goign to sleep. Because Kim works nights, someone can bunk in with me the first 2 nights. Then for the weekend, we do have a couple of air matress's. Will just have to set up people here and there. Mayhap the kids can bunk in with their parents. We can easily move Hunter's little bed in there room, then there is room in the boys room for somone on Darius's bed, and room on the floor for 2 air matress's. Plus there is the couch and love seat. Yep we have plenty of room.
Okay, this is the order it went in
- Amber caught cold back in September
- Hunter got a cold around Nov 25 or so
- Darius caught flu nov 28
- Dec 2 I caught cold
- Dec 4 I caught the flu
- Dec 8? chance caught flu
- Dec 15 Darius caught the cold
- Dec 17 Amber now has the flu
The good thing is that the flu is a mild one and only seems to last 2 days. The cold, though, can be the worrysome one. Just have to make sure to keep up the fluids and rest.
Amber and Chance disinfected last night.
I think I am trying to get sick again. I am stuffed up, tired as old heck, coughing and sneezing, runny nose. ICK.
We shall just have to make sure we wash hands, disinfect daily and we should be able to get this out of our house.
doh don't wake me.
It was one long ass night. Darius was upset and took some tlc to get to sleep. Then Hunter, well he went to sleep okay, it was staying asleep that was the problem. He woke about every hour or so from 130 am. I took the shift from 130 to about 4, and then Amber took over.
Sigh, needless to say I am butt ass tired today.
We all tried to figure out what was up with Hunter, couldn't get to the bottom of it all. He cried almost non-stop all night, and morning. I know he is tired, but we figured maybe he had a headache or some such thing that he couldn't communicate to us.
Sigh, to bed early tonight. Don't knwo when I will get to the sewing that I need to get done by saturday. :(.
Now Chance has the flu. The one I came down with on Friday. Freezing cold, upset stomach. Thank goodness that it's not the dreaded H1N1. BLAH.
Managed to fight the cold off for the last week, but it has finally got me :(. Darn.
Took Hunter out with me all day saturday. Amber had to work, kim slept, D & C went camping with scouts. So it was just H and I. We went shopping. I asked him what he would like to do. We went to a couple of thrift stores then he asked to go for lunch at the play place.
LOL, I bought a coat rack on wheels, got him to 'help' me wheel it out to the car. On the way he asked me where I was goign to put it. I replied in the trunk. He looked puzzled and said it won't fit. LOL.
I hate blasting. I do like that they warn us, cuz then I can go to the window and watch which I find way better than sitting at me desk with stressed anticipation.
doh. I asked for a cordless keyboard and mouse at work. Got them. Love them. But the damn mouse decides to take breaks and not work from time to time. :P. Forcing me to plug in my corded mouse. Damn lazy thing.
