okay, so I have a bad habit of not going on the computer whilst at home :P. I only get so far as thinking about turning the computer on.
Christmas:
So, kim gtave me jewelry for xmas, a ring, earrings, and necklace. I got him a storage console unit for the van, black jeans, black tshirt, windshield wipers, and some other little things for the van.
Kim's family, every year they say oh 'it's a strict no gift buying'. Next year I will not believe that at all and go ahead a get gifts.
In total we got 280 bux worth of g/c. 4 $20 bux for tim hortons, 2 $25's for M& M meats, $50 bux for fabric land, $50 bor bostons pizza, and a $50 buck loaded mastercard.
I ended up going to his parents for xmas dinner. Yes I finally ventured out and drove there all on me own. Was nice to spend time with them & Reg &Dawn.
SNOW:
Just when we thought it was all over, we ended up with more snow. And it is supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow. :P.
Saturday
Mary had planned on turkey dinner for her kids as this is when they was all arriving. So Kim decided we should go into town.
On our way into Kelowna that morning to have breaky with Reg &Dawn before the flew back to Edmonton, a snow plow almost ran us over. We was going thru an intersection - the light was green in our favor - when this snow plow just pulled out in front of us from the side road, Kim had to swerve into the other lane to avoid hitting him.
After breaky we went to afternoon bingo, they was paying $200 bux per game, no we did not win :(.
After bingo Kim and I went to the penticton casino. He played slots I played the table. I broke even he lost. We then headed back to westbank to go to bostons. Just outside of peachland we ended up in this line of traffic, the dumbass in the front was slowing down/speeding up. He would slow down 40 k at times and speed up to 70 k. GOOD GRIEF. We was 5th in that line up. The guy that was third kept driving in the oposite lane, into on coming traffic. I don't know if he was drunk or just trying to intimidate the driver in the front. He never passed, but sure must have scared the on coming traffic. He kept swerving back and forth. Once we go on drought hill, we went to pass and I took out the note pad and pen to get the swerving guys license plate number. But as soon as he was free of the slow guy, he and the #2 guy floored it and raced up the hill. They was completely out of sight by the time we got to the mill. Crazy.
Sunday
They didn't have turkey dinner so Mary was getting it ready for this night instead. Kim again didn't want to stick around home to partake. Mary and Devon went out and about, I cleaned some and peeled her giant pot of spuds. Then kim was hurring me out the door, he wanted to visit albert then he set up a meeting with his buddy Tim fron the old walmart. At the kelowna casino :D. Woot. He went ot the casino 2 days in a row. LOL. Whodda thunk that?
We didn't win. I spent 20 and he spend 20.
Monday
Kim had to work and we ended up getting snow. ICK. I asked him if he woudl drive me into fabric land. He did. I renewed my membership and bought fabric. With my g/c it cost me 6.76. :D.
7pm Kim's dad called to say that Tarz was checked into the Penticton hospital. Thank goodness I thought.
Tuesday
Kim's dad couldn't find out anything about tarz, they just told him that he was resting comfortably.
Kim says he chatted with the big boss of his walmart this morning. He ended up telling him about tarz and how he was checking into the hospital and how he would most likely have to drive his parents there once he got home from work. The big boss told him, sorry to hear that, why don't you take tonight off so that you can look after this situation. Woot so, he has tonight off and we is now going to bingo. They figured no sense going to Penticton until they hear something for sure. So I would say that we will be going on saturday.
later
today we had a pot luck. Wowsers did we have lots of food. I am stuffed and ready to go home.
I had expected to be dismissed early. We are being sent home at 3 :(, darn I was hoping for 1 or 2. But we shall have to live with 3.
Took me most of the morning to stuff the Jan 2 pay envelopes. Sigh, but now all I am waiting for is heading home.
Oh yes, we had the gift exchange, only 8 of us brought gifts, and we got to do the pick and open, or pick and steal one that is already open. WOOT I get the last number. So I stole a gift - chocolates and a snow man night light. I have been looking for a night light for a while now.
The gift I brought was 2 sets of abc stamps. I figured the other creative people would be fighting over them.
The very last gift left on the table was my gift, so unless I really wanted stamps... I had to steal, so I figured why not steal the best one.
so the story is that tarz took some medication, evidently too much, which made him sleep for 2 days. He was confused and disorientated. He thought it was saturday.
Relief.
We got more freakin snow over the weekend. With the accumulation, kim was really concerned about the amount on our roof. *shrug*. So yesterday he decided to climb up there and shovel it off the extension part any way, the actual metal part, well he was concerned with breaking a seam if he stepped on it.
Yes it was that damn cold. We reached -28 with a wicked wind child of about -35. with that cold, my car refused to start, even with being plugged in.
When it did start warming up it started to snow.
Sunday morning 9 am, kim's dad calls, l tell him that kim is still sleeping, he says to me 'we haven't heard from tarz since friday and we are concerned'. He also asked me how I was, what I was up to. Then he passes the phone to jean to say hello to me. then it was good bye talk to you later.
Kim gets up and I tell him his parents called and they mentioned they was concerned about tarz. Of course kim didn't even consider calling them.
230 pm rolls around, kim had just gone back outside to continue with his shoveling (I know he is obsessed, and anal about the shoveling) kim's dad calls again, accusing saying why didn't you get kim to call me like I asked you? I said well you didn't ask me to get him to call you, and he is outside shovelling. So they are quite urgent about getting kim to call. I poke me head out the window and tell kim his dad really wants him to call him. All l get from him is a shrug and I am busy. *rolls eyes*
330 jean calls and asks if kim is still outisde, I reply yes, and I just saw him drive away in his van - when he shovels he takes the vehicle for a short run to warm it up.
Kim finally gets in around 4 - to which I say you better call them right now. Ernie had said they have been trying to call tarz, but getting no answer, and it goes straight to voice mail. Tarz only has a cell phone.
he calls, and I can tell they are talking about just hitting the road to get to tarz and make sure he is okay. He gets off the phone and tells me his dad is on his way, and that once here they will then head to penticton to see tarz.. I say why don't he and I just head out right now. Ernie apparently had a key to get into Tarz's.
After much discussion and stress, it was agreed that Kim would go pick up his dad first thing this morning and then they would head to Tarz's. He left at 630. Part of the stress was how was I going to get to work? Kim, I think-but could be wrong, goes to great lengths to tell me how bad the roads are, slippery snow covered, look at that guy in the ditch, etc, etc, then he expects me to drive in those conditions? SHAKES HEAD. I am scared to drive in winter conditions as it is, and he has to freak me out by telling me all that? So I have been getting him to drive me to work for last week and today.
Well 830 rolls around and I haven't heard from him. I call jean to see if she heard anything, nope not yet. then around 9 am she calls to say it took them a while to get there, and they are in and tarz was sleeping.
PHEW.
no more cell phone. I tried off and on yesterday to recharge it, without any success. It finally will not charge. A a couple of months ago I was driving and trying to plug it in when I twisted/turned and this made the charge plug on the phone move and twist, it came completely loose. I had to take the phone apart to get the plug back to where it lined up with the hole. Then it was loose still, so when I plugged it in l had to give it a little smack to get the plug in back to the hole on the phone. Now even with it there, even with fiddling with it, I can't get it to work :(.
And, I just put minutes on it. So it has like 14 bux on it. Thank goodness that I didn't buy the 25 bux one that I was thinking of.
So now I am contemplating buying a pay as you go cell phone.
No I can't find Chance's old cell phone. I had it in my back pack, but it's not there. I'll take another quick look tonight.
I am sorry, I forgot the punch line in that story.... what made it funny was:
she said "I have to go pick up my daughter, she got kicked out of sign language class, because she was talking too much!
We all broke out laughing so hard.
phew, I am starting to see the end of the week. IT is hard to beleive that next week is christmas already.
GOD it has been such a long week :P. This morning was very stressful. I almost killed my computer. Damn thing kept saying 'updates are complete, restart now or later'. GGRRR... yes I almost killed it. Between, trying to balance my payroll after finally receiving the package, making sure that the next payroll is entered, and trying to get in stuffing the current pay envelopes, then the damn computer has the nerve to ASK ME THAT STUPID QUESTION!
Well, at least it is the end of the day and most is done.
LOL, during lunch Lauren says OMG I have to go pick up my daughter because she got kicked out to sign language class! OMG, you should have heard everyone laugh, they all made cracks at this, and I am sure Lauren was laughing so hard it brought tears to her eyes. Was jus the stress breaker that we all needed. Course by then we as all so stressed that I am sure would have cracked had someone came in and said PINK FISH.
Snow and more freakin snow. In the midst of all that was happenign this morning, kim calls to chat, complaining about how much snow was coming down. There is so much snow out there that I can only see the roof of cars across the lawn, as they come into our parking lot. The bench outside our doors is completely buried.
Now the question is when am I going to get brave enough to venture out on my own, as in drive some where? The last time I drove was last friday. We have a lot more snow now and lots of patches of black ice, plus the snow has all compacted on the roads, and they are all very slippery.
I guess I will just keep getting kim to drive me and finding a ride home at the end of the day :P. Then maybe on the weekend I will get brave nuff to venture out to the store. Take the side roads, no wait, the side roads are the worst, but I dont' want to go the same speed as all those silly people on the highway. 'rolls eyes' oh well.
